Moviepass – are the dot.com days back?

I need to sign up for this service:

They have the most amazing business plan – selling a monthly pass to movie theaters for $9.95, but paying $50 or $100 for the actual tickets.  You might have to read that twice – the idea is so disruptive, it takes a while to sink in.

From Bloomberg “Simple math shows that if 400,000 subscribers go to two movies in a month, at an average price of $9, the company would take in $4 million in revenue and spend $7.2 million on tickets, which would be a loss of $3.2 million. At 2.5 million subscribers, like Farnsworth projected, the loss would be $20 million.”
